The White Earthenware Clay - 10kg is a high-quality, functional sculpting clay with a smooth to medium texture, making it ideal for all classroom ceramic activities. Suitable for a variety of hand-building and wheel-throwing projects, this clay supports the development of creative expression, fine motor skills, and three-dimensional thinking. It can be shaped into vessels, tiles, sculptures, or functional objects, offering students a tactile and rewarding artistic experience.

This clay is specifically formulated for kiln firing, making it a long-lasting material once fired correctly. It requires two firings to become permanent and water-resistant:

The first firing (bisque firing) is done at 980 °C, removing moisture and hardening the clay.

The second firing (glaze firing) is done at 1100 °C, allowing the glaze to fuse to the surface, resulting in a shiny, durable finish that is easy to clean.

While the clay can be air-dried, this method is not suitable for permanent use, as the clay will crumble over time or deteriorate if exposed to moisture or the elements. Made in Australia, this 10kg pack is ideal for use in school ceramic programs, art rooms, or creative studios where access to a kiln is available.
