This set of three soft, fabric pillows features stylised designed inspired by the scenery and landscapes of New Zealand. Each of the covers in this New Zealand cushions kit are removable and are machine washable in cold water. The pillows covers are made from cotton/polyester, and each measures 50cm x 50cm. The cushion cover may shrink a small amount after the first few washes, so we have designed the cushion cover a little larger to allow for this initial shrinkage. Each of the New Zealand cushions includes a thickly padded insert. The printed velvet feel cover is removable for easy washing. The separate cushion insert features a durable foam fill, which is both durable and soft. This New Zealand cushion kit includes the following padded cushions: Fern (LIJ027), Fantail (LIJ025) and Koru (LIJ026). These resources aid in the promotion of understanding and acceptance of different cultures, beliefs, languages, families, appearances and lifestyles. As children gain an understanding of their community, they also gain an understanding of themselves. This develops confidence and a sense of identity. These cushions help educators to create an authentic environment that represents both their local and wider communities. These cushions can be used to create comfortable play spaces, reading areas and also reception spaces. We love creating products that allow indigenous communities and artists to communicate their culture through their art and in turn allowing children to develop awareness and understanding of the significance of cultural heritage in their world. These cushions have been treated with an anti microbial product from Fresche Bioscience. This antimicrobial treatment scan kill up to 99.9% of odour causing bacteria. It can also help to prevent the formation of harmful biofilms, and helps to prevent infestation of dust mites. This new anti-microbial treatment also inhibits the growth of mould, mildew and fungus in these sheets. This treatment does wear away over time with washing, and so it does not last forever. This time will depend on how often the cushion covers are washed and how they are washed and dried.
