The Sayres love to brainstorm and laugh together – which is how the idea for One Is a Snail came about. About the illustrator:Randy Cecil has always been fascinated by picture books, so it should come as no surprise that he has now illustrated more than a dozen books for children. He is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. Randy received a book deal not long after graduating and also worked as a freelance designer. He lives in Houston Texas, where he also grew up. Some of his titles include ‘My Father the Dog’ by Elizabeth Bluemle, ‘We ve All Got Bellybuttons!’ by David Martin and ‘Gator’ which he wrote himself.
