Competition Terms & Conditions

This competition is run by Modern Teaching Aids Pty Ltd ACN 000 628 786 of Level 1, 122-126 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale NSW 2100 Australia (MTA/We/us). Your entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions:

  • Entry is open to teachers/educators working in Australia and New Zealand. Employees of the Modern Star Group of companies and their family members are not eligible to enter

  • Entries should be an original artwork produced by you for this competition submitted at A4 size, either digital, hand-drawn or painted. Artwork should be scanned at a minimum of 300 dpi. See specifrications for more detail.

  • Submit your entry via the form, by email to publishing@teaching.com.au and include "2023 Planner Cover Design Competition" in the subject line or by post to:

  • You must include your name, address, email, contact number and employer/school details with each entry and affix these details to the back of any artwork you post in. The collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy available at our website. By providing us with your details you consent to our use of your data as detailed in this policy.

  • You are welcome to submit multiple entries.

  • Entry is open to teachers/educators working in Australia and New Zealand. Employees of the Modern Star Group of companies and their family members are not eligible to ente

  • All submissions must be received by us by midday on January 31st 2022. We appreciate there may be delays with post so please mail your entry early. Entries received after this time will not be eligible for the competition.

  • Entry into this completion is at your own risk. Entries and artwork submitted will not be returned to you. MTA is not responsible for any artwork or entries that are lost of damaged.

  • Four winners will be selected based on the creativity of the design as determined in the absolute discretion of our judges. The decision of our judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • The winning artworks will be used as the cover design for our 2023 planners and in all publications and promotions in connection thereto. We may use the winning artworks for other uses including but not limited to publication in our catalogues and websites.

  • Each winner will receive a $1,000 Modern Teaching Aids gift voucher to spend with us. Vouchers are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Vouchers are valid for 3 years from date of issue and must be fully redeemed in that period.

  • Winners will be announced on 15 February 2022 with winners to be notified by email and details of the winners published by email.

  • From the time of submission of your entry you assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights and waive all moral rights in the artwork and your entry to us. You consent to us using your name and biographical details in connection with the competition and for the production, promotion and use of our planners. You guarantee and warrant that your entry is an original artwork produced by you and that it does not infringe on the copyright, other intellectual property rights or moral rights of any person.

  • We reserve the right in our absolute discretion to disqualify any entry for suspected breach of these terms and conditions.

  • All costs and expenses you incur in entering or winning this competition are at your cost and will not be reimbursed by use in any circumstances.

  • You further guarantee and warrant that you comply with these terms and conditions and indemnify us from all losses we suffer as a result of your breach of these terms and conditions.
